Sweeper Driver – HGV 2

We seek professional and committed Sweeper looking for stability of employment and with a history of good attendance and reliability. Experience preferred but will consider newly qualified drivers with the right attributes.

 

Main duties will be to drive a road-sweeping machine, including carrying out daily maintenance checks. This is to ensure we keep the roads clean in the areas surrounding our lorries.

 

A bit about us

 

The Armstrong Group operate from 5 quarries across the North West and Cumbria, Armstrong’s are a reliable supplier of all forms of stone material from rock armor or cut dimension stone down to aggregate, sand or dust.

Our quarries produce attractive shades of sandstone, with the exception of Shap in Cumbria which is the home of the famous Shap pink granite, all with good reserves to ensure continuity of supply. The Company has extensive sawing capabilities and can produce any form of cut stone requested from bricks to a solid stone ball, nameplates to fireplaces.

 

We also undertake other aspects of groundwork’s, e.g. muck away, and operate our own inert tip in Horwich, Lancashire. With an eye on sustainability we also produce recycled aggregate at our Head Office in Horwich, customers can be confident their site clearance will be dealt with in an environmentally friendly way.

Our locations are within easy reach of the regions motorways enabling us to supply aggregate across the whole north of England and the north Midlands and Wales.

 

Job Specification

 

As a Concrete Mixer Driver, you will be reporting to the Transport Manager and will be able to demonstrate the following:

 

  • Understanding of all relevant Health & Safety legislation associated with the role
  • To deliver excellent customer service and promote the Armstrongs Group
  • Good communication skills to both the general public and your colleagues.
  • A strong team ethic
  • First-rate time keeping and organisational skills.

 

Requirements

 

  • The successful candidate will have previous experience in Class 2 driving, training will be provided where needed
  • Hold a valid CPC Card
  • Hold a valid Driver Card
